Default Lawn Problems / Seed And Feed

hi guys, looking for some experience if any of you have any relating to lawns..

i used to use greenthumb and pay £15 a quarter, however i still got weeds growing through and moss, and i had an area that was always brown and baulding, greenthumb said it was because i have laylandae so they couldnt help...i figured im wasting my money in that case.

anyway, now the 'weeds' dont bother me at all, after all they are simply wild flowers (that was my ex-parteners desire to remove them) but the lawns arent a lush green by any means and i still have bauld patches. i payed greenthumb to airate/scarify (i forget which) last year also.

im looking for advice on making my lawns lush and green without killing off the wild flowers, so i guess i need seed and feed, i do water them now and then on the really hot days and i think they are quite good at retaining water anyway, would it help forking them and what treatment can i use? i did recently put packet of cheap rye grass down but it didnt seem to take.
