My pumpkins were like that to begin with Pacey - first flower was a female - no males to pollinate
then a few male flowers and no females, then a female and two males so I hand pollinated and something ate it after about 2 weeks
Somebody told me that it is possible to freeze the male stamens and use them to hand pollinate the female flowers when they appear. I have no idea if this is true though
Does anyone know if I should dead head the pumpkin flowers when they've finished? Does that encourage more flowers?
