This works for me....
Use a good basmatic vinegar, Demmarera sugar (to taste) and finaly Lemon Juice, add about half a lemon to start with you can add more later untill it to your taste. The juice helps to seal in juice and flavour whilst adding its own little zing. The vinegar i imagine would help to disguise any browning that did take place.
