Default Broom

Just read on RHS site that I was supposed to cut back my Broom after it flowered. OPPPPs That was over a month ago!
It also said cut only the ones that flowered because next years flowers will be on the new growth of this year, if that makes sense! Bit like Rasberry canes i guess.

So should I now leave well alone or cut the whole thing back by say a 3rd! Thinking I may have a problem identifying those that flowered this year! ha ha ha
I am useless with flowering stuff. My wisteria hasnt been touched as far as pruning is concerned and every year I say oh dear its not flowering again! Maybe I should give it a go, all seems a bit complicated though!!!!!!!!!

Many thanks, Sandra
