Hi Jim, the easiest vegetable to grow has to be courgette. With two plants you will be over run with them! Another easy and tasty veg is climbing french beans. These are self pollinating so no need to worry about the shortage of pollinating insects if we have another cold summer next year.

Carrots and potatoes need depth to grow so either dig over the garden where your raised beds will be or grow these in containers. You can grow potatoes in buckets, one seed potato per bucket and just tip out one bucket at a time to harvest fresh spuds.

Strawberries can be grown in hanging baskets as well as tumbling tomatoes.
