Why do I call my blog the recycled gardener ?

Well, I try to recycle and re-use as much as I can of other people's rubbish in an effort to show how wasteful we are as a society. I've also recycled a lot of ideas and thrown out those that seemed not to work.

This is now season six on my present veg patch which was started from scratch from what was a lawn. Something I have discovered in that time is that a lot of received wisdom is nonsense. There are ways of doing things that really work and others which, to me, seem completely pointless.
