Default Inishindie - Ian Gomersall Inishowen

Hi all

Thanks for letting me share my wares on this site!

I have been putting together gardening stories and advice for a while now and thought a blogsite would help to keep things fresh.

I also include a few other topics on the environment

I welcome your feedback!!

Cheers

Ian

Top of the afternoon to you Ian and Failte to this forum, I am from Co. Down, and have been living here in the West Midlands some 35 years so I think I am a Brummie now. I have looked at your blog and it looks really interesting, I will study it some more, when I have time. It made me quite homesick! I do a lot of my gardening in containers, as I find it easier, as the soil in my garden is heavy clay.

Hi Runnerbean

I was from Nottingham myself. I have been in Ireland 20 years now (married a Derry woman) and still have a very strong northern England accent! I think it is probably because I don't listen to people!!

Thankfully I don't get homesick as I love living on the coast. I couldn't imagine living inland now, but of course it does have it's disadvantages. Trees here tend to grow sideways!

After saying that I enjoy what flourishes on the coast, it takes a bit of time and trial and error but it's fun to play!

Cheers

Ian

Default new gardening column

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi

I have just started a new column for a local newspaper

NEW GARDENING COLUMN FOR THE INISHOWEN INDEPENDENT

A new weekly organic gardening column called Gardening Matters has started in the Inishowen Independent, out every Tuesday. Local gardener Ian Gomersall will be recruiting local experts to give advice on your prized patch. You can also access the articles on the Inishindie blog site http://inishindie.blogspot.com You will also find the Forum page for any questions or answers that you might have. We look forward to seeing you there. http://inishindie.blogspot.com

If you have any ideas for the article I would love to hear about them!

Cheers

Ian

Default new website

Hi

I have been neglecting the forum for a while now as I have been busy setting up a new website. I am putting together what I hope will be a gardening information site for the Irish gardener. I initially thought it would take me a week or two but I have realised it will be a full time job!

I am enjoying the challenge though and please pop in to see the progress

Thanks

Ian
