Question Bees in my compost heap

I have a compost heap with wooden slats on the front. I have been digging out compost from the base for the last couple of weeks. I was aware that there were bees above where I was digging out but they have now moved in to the loose compost in the base of the heap. My question is: can I now collapse the heap on top of the bees or will it damage their nest?

Default Bees in your compost heap.

You don't need to worry about the bees. They will dig their way out if it collapses on them.
