Default Organic fertiliser

Hi all. New to veg growing I'm just preparing my first organic veg patch (10m x 5m) and would appreciate some help with organic fertiliser. I've been reading "Gardening when it Counts" by American gardener Steve Solomon who swears by a recipe for Complete Organic Fertiliser (COF). The base ingredient is "seed meal" but I cant seem to find anywhere in the UK that sells it - is it known by a different name in the UK? Or perhaps I would be better buying a ready made organic mix? Any help much appreciated. I live in Sussex.
