Default bamboo cane ends

He likes it when I'm being cheap. My husband, that is. The 'safety' ends to put on bamboo canes to help avoid putting your eye out can run expensive if you happen to be using a lot of canes. My cheap and cheerful solution is to use the caps from fabric conditioner bottles and from jars of herbs. A small amount of blue-tack or plasticine on the inside of the lid - then press down on to top of bamboo cane. Works a treat and with the sticky bit inside, they are remaining where they should be in the current gusty winds.

Hi Wafflycat

Super idea!

I will certainly be speaking to my Wife about saving the fabric conditioner tops.

In the past I have used polystyrene pieces from packaging on washing machines, T.V's etc but the most useful and cheapest I find are the plastic drinking cups from the tea/coffeee machine at work. A quick wash out and they can also be used as pots for potting on small plants / cuttings. (Making sure you have punched holes in the bottom first ).

Best of luck for the coming season.

Regards
Eddie
