Default Wormery

Hi. I have a three layered wormery, and have an increasing number of those little white worms. I think i have read that they do not cause a problem, but there are now a huge number of them. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get rid of them or what causes them please? I never put in onion or citrus fruit etc. Thank you. Nanjizal

Hi Nanjizal, These little white worms indicate acidict conditions in the wormery. To combat this you need to add lime each week and apparently if you place some moist bread in the wormery this will attract the little white worms so that you can remove them easily and feed them to the birds. The lime is available here:-

Taking care of worms. Wormery rescue kit. Wormery start-up pack. Wormery accessories.

thank you Lesley - i'll try the lime, and extracting them for the birds sounds like a good idea.
