to much of soft wet makings can make it smell. Is it wet? if so add some dry stuff ie shredded newspaper. I am not sure but I think the mix should be 75/25. as for banana and spud peelings I chuck them all in even the spud haulms if they are green. you haven't put any cooked stuf in by mistake? usually to wet makes it smell so try the paper avenue or more dry brown material. have you put a load of grass in there as that goes to a horrible stinky mush very quickly. anyway have a look ans good luck.

i have done all that, not much grass has gone in, i split my clippings between the bin and recycle bag for council. i think its just because there isnt much in it,i was alsoadding lots of little amounts so am gonna try and store it up and add once/twice a week i am a bit paranoid about food going mouldy so i was adding once/twice a day. at the mo its only a thinnish layer on bottom of a big bin (330 ltr)will let you know how i get on thanks for reply lez
