Smile new compost bin

hiya guys hope your all well

iv ordered a plastic compost bin that will be arriving today...yipppeeee

im wondering if some of you guys could lead me in the right direction as to setting it up........ill even say pretty please if it helps lol

my 1st question is do i dig my new bin into the piece of lawn im putting it on say a few inches in as to let worms etc etc get in and do there job or do i just rest it on top...my thoughts are the grass will die under the bin anyway so may as well dig it in a little...am i right in thinking along those lines ?

and my second question is,iv been saving for the last few days my tea bags fruit left overs toilet paper tubes and im amazed how much has built up already...think some one uses to much toilet paper in my house !!.....im not being tight im just thinking credit crunch lol

iv got a kitchen compost caddy but obviously its contents wont even cover the bottom of my compost bin.....will it be ok in the bin and just carry on building it up with my daily waste or do i have to think about filling it pretty fast for it all to rot down....im just a bit worried that with only small amounts in the bin it will just go bad but not in a good way....hope that makes sense

as im a superviser in a supermarket getting cardboard wont be a problem and i should imagine over time i could get hold of lots of fruit and veg past its sell by date.. its just now im a little worried about

my garden gets full sun from 11.30 am till the sun goes down at night is my compost bin going to be affected by such intense heat for long periods,im near a water supply with either hose or water butt so keeping it all moist wont be a problem,i just wanted to know about anything i may have to watch out for

i hope all this makes sense and maybe some ideas could be thrown my way

anyway as promised...........

PRETTY PLEASE

Nik
