I have just started a compost bin, but it awkward to turn the compost to keep it aerated, although the bin does contain the heat to help with decomposition, but this does limit the amount that can be composted.
Does an open compost heap, compost as quickly as in a bin?

thanks in advance Ivan

Ivan an open heap will compost much much quicker than a bin, but it all depends on the quantity being composted, with an open heap just cover the top during heavy rain, the quality of the compost will also be far better compared to a bin
