Default J.Innes No.3 + Half Multi-purpose

Someone on the Gardeners' Question Time panel said they use a mix of half multi-purpose compost and John Innes No.2 for pretty much everything and I have some John Innes No.3, do you think that would be a good combination for potting my chillies/peppers?
I can't be bothered to go to the shops right now

I think no 3 is just no 2 with added grit, so I don`t see a problem with that. I would do it.
