Sorry if this is in the wrong place, I wasn't sure where was most appropriate.
I want to start growing veg in my garden in the Spring. Do I need to prep the soil and buy things like topsoil? Is there anything else I need to be aware of? If I was to buy topsoil, what sort should I buy? Like here Garden Topsoil Direct, topsoil and compost products page there's five different types but I really don't understand the difference or what I need?! Help! |

The top surface of the soil will leach its nutrients throughout the winter, so it's better to have something growing there rather than nothing. Or as airconedthingy says, overwintering with manure (check your source), green manure, leaf mould etc helps. But don't add manure direct to existing plants.
Thompson & Morgan recommend: "Dig over empty borders and pile manure on top - let the worms and frosts break up the clods of soil." Link here: What to do in the garden in December | Thompson & Morgan Some advocate 'No Dig' though - matter of opinion. |

I am wanted to give you some suggestion about this and that, if you are wanted to grow the veg in your garden in that case first of all you should prepare a topsoil bed and make it wet. then after you should add the seeds of veg in the top soil and for the proper growth of veg, regular care of plants is necessary and if you have any doubt in finding the topsoil then you can check this detail on Topsoil, Top Soil, Topsoil Supplier, Top Soil Suppliers, Suppliers of Topsoil . Here you will find all the relevant information about the topsoil. Thanks |
