Default growing garlic

Hi LJ, haven't been on here for awhile, been made redundant, so took early retirement, finding my feet so to speak, see you're still around, one question I would like to ask, is it too late to grow garlice cloves in containers?

Hi Runnerbean, it's great to see you back here!! I'm sorry you were made redundant - it's really horrible when it happens. My OH has been made redundant four times while we've been married and now they are threatening to make more redundant where he is working.

As for garlic it is a bit late but why not give it a try? As Katiekins says there is a discussion in the Members Introductions.

Thanks LJ, will keep fingers crossed for O/H. This is the first time I have stopped working in 29 years and its mind boggling, I feel so useless, but I'm sure as time goes by I will readjust. I will have a go at the garlic just to see.

That's great Runnerbean and I'm sure you will get a crop of garlic. I planted garlic late one year but didn't get a crop as my Dad helped with the weeding and deliberately pulled them out!!

hi runner bean (hope retirement is suiting you ) and LJ
sorry for hijacking your thread but i am wondering, how long does it take for garlic to grow fully? i planted some about 6 weeks ago and i accidentally dislodged one from soil the other day and it looked like a biggish spring onion, is that how they start? i hope some one will know
cheers
Wynter
