Question Manure

Hi Everyone

Just a bit of advice

I have toms, peppers, chilli's strawberry's & i recently bought a raspberry cane plant & put into a massive pot.

I have my own horse & the nice man at the garden centre said that raspberry's like acidic food & that i should put some of my horses manure on top, which i have done & all seems fine . .

I just wondered whether manure was suitable & a good feed for all fruit & veg or is everything different?

Many Thanks

some veg will thrive if you fill a trench with horse poo ie beans that make thier own nitrogen. most veg would appreciate the poo being well rotted first. all poo/compost can as said be acidic. most veg like a ph of 6.5 to 7. some veg don't want any ie carrots. best I think to pile it up and let it rot down before feeding it to your ground. also it needs nitrogen to de-compose and if in the ground will rob the soil of nitrogen and therefore lock it away from your plants. so. my advice is compost it for 6 months min first. good luck.

ps, 7 is the usual guide to say neutral PH of soil, water, compost etc. above that is alkaline and below is acid.
