Have you already got the seeds??
Cos if not I would recommend you buy a packet of mixed leaf seeds. The one I think it Suttons Speedy Seeds Italian Mix. You end up with leaves like you would buy in a bag from the surmarket and would be the best idea for continers. We've got little gem and I'd say you'd fit 3 or 4 in a flower bucket, but maybe sow a few seeds in clusters & prick out the weaker ones. |

Hi,
I grow mixed lettuce, the cut and come again type in seed trays and sow some every other week or so for a successional supply. They grow quite happily in the shallower trays. My tortoise loves to devour them if he can ![]() As for carrots in containers, I like to grow the golf ball size Parmex (mostly for my rabbits and guinea pigs who prefer tops). I sprinkle liberally over the surface and thin out as the seedlings grow. I am trying cos lettuce in growbags for the first time too. |
