I can't even begin to tell you how disheartened I am! My tomato plants all died overnight from what I can only assume is the dreaded tomato blight, my peppers are infested with whitefly, my beans have rotted from all the rain and my potato crop was a massive 5, yes thats five, measly potatoes from 3 plants. I'm going to the supermarket in future.:

chin up mate. There is always next year. It will be a triumph when it all comes together for you. maybe get a book out of the library and try to work out were you went wrong. I've just had some good success growing Pak Choi over winter. It practically grew itself. tasted great in a stir fry last night to.
good luck |

Could it perhaps also be because of poor soil?

Hi,
I'm from Bridport in Dorset. Please don't be disheartened, it wasn't your fault. Everyone in this area has been hit with Blight. This is our first year in our new home and with two greenhouses I thought it was going to be heaven, one for tomatoes, peppers, etc and the other for cucumbers. Everything started well, all the seeds germinated, all plants planted, all lush green and bearing lots of fruit, and then disaster, within 3 weeks I lost everything. Not only me but all my neighbours and friends as far as Blandford Forum had the same problem. It was well spread and we could do nothing about it. I took some side shoots from a few tomatoes and planted them in containers, and also planted 4 new cucumber seeds, luckily they have taken and with a little more luck I might have a late crop. Keep at it. Regards Drew
