Thanks Lesley, will go and check the lot, but sounds like the whole lot are gone

Presume then that the containers (canvas bags) should now not have onions re grown in them. I'll disperse of the soil somewhere now as well.

The fungus will only break out again if you plant any onions, leeks or chives in the soil and I don't think you should use the canvas bags for alliums. You could bag-up the infected onions and put them in the rubbish bin but not the garden recycling bin or on the compost heap.

Default problem with onion

Hi,

I have found this thread relevant to my problem and that's why I'm posting my question here. The color of my onion leaves are changing. It's becoming light yellowish. I love organic gardening. So, I don't want to use any chemicals.

Any solution?

Lost the lot, oh well try again next year with them.

Does anyone know what could cause the white onion rot? Overwattering? Too close together?

Hi Chesh, unfortunately in this case the disease was probably caused by infected onion sets.
