Default all about zucchinis!

im ecstatic! finally somebody is sending me zucchini seeds ( about he seeds law in the philippines, i could find any, i researched but theres none) anyway i hope nobody opens the mail in the post office...

im planning to plant the seeds in a big container..but since i will only get a couple of seeds, i dont want to waste them ( imagine how will you feel if the seeds that were sent to you by a friend from teh other side of the world didnt successfully grow? or if they die after they germinate? thats gonna be disheartening..)

can you give me some tips on how to grow them? our temperature here is about 77-90 degrees and we have a lot of sun...

thank you in advance!

That's great news Gevalia! Zucchini seeds need a high temperature in the 70's to germinate and as they are a mediterranean vegetable I think they should grow great in The Philippines. You must sow the seeds on their sides to stop them rotting.

I know that a few years ago visitors were allowed to take five packets of seeds into The Philippines (if they could get through customs!) but the post office do open alot of mail......

I wouldn't worry Gevalia - the post man will probably grow the seeds himself!! You can buy zucchini's at the markets in The Philippines so they are not a restricted vegetable.

wow you know a lot about my country..yes there are zucchinis here but they are only available in few markets..like i can count the number of times i saw zucchinis...we have all sorts of melons and squashes here too..

correct me if im wrong, the law will only restrict the trade of non native plants, for example if you send me tunrnip or kale seeds id be in trouble?
