I've read you should plant seeds in clean pots, but how thoroughly should they be cleaned? I know that's probably a daft question
but I assume this is to kill bacteria/disease harmful to plants, and there always seems to be a limescale-like crust at the top of my pots that's hard to remove. I know about as much as is written on back of the seed packet so if you could answer my silly question I'd be grateful ![]() |

personally i take the view that they can't really be too clean for plants
![]() make up a mild bleach solution - proper pure hydrogen peroxide (not kitchen/bathroom cleaner!) this or similar - Liquid Oxygen. please be careful with this stuff it can be dangerous, read the instructions first! wash clean then rinse thoroughly in water and leave for 24-48 hours before use - any remaining bleach will have turned to water and oxygen during this time. ![]() |
