onions

Hi as you are all probably gathering i really am a novice in the garden i have sowed some onions and they seem to be doing we little green shoots coming through. my question is whats next size pots and when to move them and any other helpful advice. was trying to add a pic but no idea how cheers bailz.

You have a long way to go yet, Neil. I`d be inclined to get some sets in, as a back up.

Growing onions from seeds takes about 8 months from sowing to cropping. Onion sets are immature bulbs which you plant around about March time ( depending on weather conditions )and harvest in August. But you can still plant them now, though you will get smaller onions.
