Default Potatoes!!

I've been growing some potatoes in grow bags. They've been growing well and the foilage is starting to come through, now that the grow bags are full with compost.

I just wanted to check wether it's ok for the foilage to get wet when I water them or wether that will make them susceptable to disease. Does it matter or should I water them from below the leaves to stop them getting wet.

Thanks for any help.

You can minimize the problem by watering early in the morning, and mostly on the soil. Then the sun will dry the foliage during the day. If the sun chooses to shine, that is

An industrial potato farmer has no control over the rain in the field, and they seem to be doing pretty well most of the time anyway. But when diseases hit, they cause big problems, true.

Try and avoid the leaves, fairly easy if you use a hosepipe or place the sprinkler head on your watering can as low as possible into the bag, I have found that placing them in somewhere where they always get a bit of breeze helps, as the wind soon dries off the leaves. I have shifted mine to my side passage by my summer house and have had no problems so far this year touch wood!
