Default potato frost damage?

The temp near me dropped to minus 2 the other night and I've noticed my potatoes are looking ill. Some of the leaves are droppy and have dark green patches and then in another sack some of the leaves have gone yellow around the edges. Is this frost damage on both or is the yellowing something else? Will they survive? I've removed the most damaged/wilted leaves hoping they keep growing ok.

Hi Sandy, I saw your question too and was hoping someone might reply to one of us. Do yours look like mine?

Nicola & Sandy,
I,m no expert but photos 1 and 3 look like frost damage, however i,m pretty sure they will recover in a week or two. photo 2 could be a defficiency, try a general purpose feed, not too much - stick to the instructions and i think all your spuds will make a full recovery.
Best of Luck, Regards Hammer

I agree Hammer, the 1st and 3rd are definitely frost damaged, the same thing happened to my butternut squash plants. I'd suggest removing the damaged leaves from your plants and adding a feed too. Photo 2 looks fine to me, I wouldn't worry about that one at all.

Thank you both, will wait with anticipation for the next few months to pass and see what happens. I've got some fleece over them now to try and avoid any further damage.

All will be well, i hope, they have food; as i said just cut off dead foliage and wait - you will see improvement in a couple of weeks.
Good Luck - Hammer

Well all's looking ok so far, I've removed the damaged leaves and the stems still look green and healthy, the undamaged leaves are bright and perky, as for the yellowing leaves, the yellow bits have started going bright green now.
