courgettes and cabbage

Hi,

Courgettes
I have grown some courgettes from seed but do not intend to plant them out into containers until the end of May. The problem is they are growing quite big and some have quite a few flowers on them I am trying to put them outside some days weather permitting but will this have any effect on the crop of courgettes.

Cabbages
I bought some cabbage seedlings from B&Q they were reduced to 10p for a container of 8 so got two of them. I want to grow them in conainers has anyone had any experience of this as I expect they need a lot of room.
