For the last 2 years I have grown runners in pots reasonably successfully and am hoping to do the same this year, however the beans I planted 6-7 weeks ago undercover have done nothing
Do I need to buy plants now or not panic just yet please? |

Hi Florence. I'm assuming you planted seeds in your pots. I'm afraid that after 6-7 weeks they've probably rotted and you need to start again. You can buy plants if you want, but you probably still have time for seeds. Just make sure they're in the sun for warmth and kept moist.

Why not sacrifice one and dig down to it. See if its doing anything or if its just as you planted. Husker may well be right though.. :-(

Hi Florence not sure I can be of much help to your green bean misery but I'm having the same problem with courgettes. I planted three late march and only 2 germinated they were doing ok and were getting strong and quite big and I didn't have enough room to keep them indoors so I transplanted the two into larger pots for going outside but unfortunately I snapped on of the stems in the process. So I only had one and as I didn't harden it off properly it just withered and died -so lesson learnt. I've since planted 7 of the same seeds in to a heated propagator same as the others and not a single one has germinated! So just bought one already growing from b&q today.
