Im having problems as said. They have been growing from seed on the windowsill indoors. I want to get them outside and ready for a new pot.
I tried a few and this is what happened. From this ![]() To this after one week of outside. ![]() How do I get them outside without killing them. They are world Beater peppers , chili peppers and long red peppers. I have 6 small plants left undamaged. |

Hi Kenneth, i dont mean to sound patronising at all, but are you just placing them outside? You may do well to harden them off by putting them outside in the daytime and bringing them in at night. So long as the temperature difference isnt too great of course. This will effectively acclimatise them and they will cope with the change. Do this for about a week before finally leaving them outdoors through the night. That should do the trick!

they are still alive now. And seem healthy. But not growing. I might take them back to the sunny window board . Indoors.
Infact every thing in the veg pots seems to be at a standstill. I think this cold summer is getting the better of them |

Hi Kenneth,
As mentioned by the other members, Chilli Plants do not like Too much "Fluctuation" in temps. Looking at your pics,,,, They have had a "Shock" ![]() ![]() Keeping the plants at an even temp inside, should see them ok again, not too much too drink( they look wet in pics) plenty of light, and transplant them into larger pots when needed, (roots popping out of bottom) Also to make the plants a little more stable, they can be transplanted up to the Seed leaves ("cotyledons") I hope they make it for you, but do you think they will make it to "Fruit" this season??? Time is running out, and the lack of "Sun" is a worry. Good Luck, please keep us updated with pics, cheers stupo. |
