1st Spuds

First year with the containers and bags and it has been going great.
Decided to try the first bag of spuds this week. It was a small bag that only topped up to about a foot and half, two foot because I used all my compost on the others. So it was no great loss if it was empty but we got a nice surprise with about 4lb of spuds. I have not tasted potatoes that good for years possibly when we had a small allotment as a kid.
These were kestrel second earlies going to try a bag of sharp express today. The kids love it too and I am under orders not too touch them until they get back from town

Can see that you gave them plenty of water by the amount of soil stuck to them,certainly the secret of good container crops.Had good container crops of rocket +orla variety this year.More to harvest soon.Enjoy!

harvest some of my potatoes this week to discover just under 4kg of spuds. i am well chuffed as it first time growing them. they were grown in bags and a bread box type you get in supermarkets.
