I planted my heat treated Sturon onions in early April and the tops are now starting to fold over.
With all the rain forcast for the South Coast should I pull them now and dry them in the shed? Also my garlic bulbs are at about the same. Should I pull them and store them as well? Many Thanks. Smeag ![]() |

Wait for them all to turn yellow and topple over. Leave them for a couple of weeks then carefully lift with a fork on a dry day. Onions not for immediate use need to be dried. Spread them out on sacking or wire trays. Outside if sunny inside if wet. This takes 7-21 days. all damaged, soft and thick necked onions should be put aside for kitchen use. The rest can be stored.

Does that relate to the garlic as well? |
