Default Parsnips

For some reason I thought it would be a good idea to grow parsnip in containers.. I didn't know how big the foliage got (I was thinking similar to carrots!)

Anyone else grown them in containers? I have also grown some in the plot and they are doing well too. I have read that they taste better after frost - I wonder if the container will protect them from frost though.

I am also wondering if I might need to add any nutrients to the soil ? They are in the same compost, in the same container, that I sowed the seeds in, in February, and no doubt have run out of nutrients?

Thanks

Jo
