I have discovered a great site with some fabulous containers of all sizes that will be perfect for growing vegetables and fruit in. Take a look!

To grow vegetables in containers they need to be at least 10 inches in diameter and about 12 inches deep. Peppers can be grown in a smaller 8 inch plant pot. I have never had any luck with aubergines!

The sweet peppers have been cropping slowly and I think there are around 30 green fruit between 8 plants and the chillies are going mad - I must have hundreds! Terry |

That is a very small pot Terry! Don't they get root bound or topple over? |

I would never even think of growing peppers in a small pot. The roots need plenty of space. Once i see the roots beginning to come out of the bottom of the pot they are moved into a bigger one. Also when they are in a bigger pot they don't dry out so quickly.

I grew an Aubergine plant two years ago in a half grow bag. Had about half a dozen decent sized fruit on it. I am having another go this year will let you know how it goes because I am doing it from seed this year as opposed to buying a plant two years ago.

No sign yet of the Aubergine seeds I sowed last week, I have other seeds I planted at the same time all through. As I said the one I grew before I bought as a small plant. Still fingers crossed some of this seed will come through!
