I've got 3 Blueberries in one container. I want to transplant one of them to new container. Can I do it as a complete plant or do I cut it back when I transplant it. It's dormant now and I'll try and get as much of the root system as I can

Not sure about pruning, but I do know that they should only be transplanted when there is an 'R' in the month ( ie when they are dormant) so now should be fine.
They do need as much of the original soil around the roots as possible and need plenty of bagged compost ( ie not too rich as in fresh compost). I think the fine roots must be pretty delicate. Let us know how you get on! Remember to use acidic compost!!! |
