Default Vegetable Varieties Suitable For Patio Containers And Small Gardens

Here is a list of suitable varieties for patio and small gardeners hope its of some use :

PATIO VEGETABLES
Aubergine : Baby Belle F1
Dwarf compact plants which are ideal for containers plants approx 30cm in
Height bear lots of small jet black fruits this variety is also spine free.
French Bean : Safari
Excellent plant habit and high pod attachment making picking easier
Performs well even in less favourable conditions.
Runner Bean : Hestia
Dwarf variety with Bi-coloured flowers looks great in containers and
Produces good quality beans over a long period
Chard : Bright Lights.
Very versatile crop can be used in baby salad leaf mixes as well as grown
And used like spinach. Mixture of bright colours.
Chard : Rhubarb Chard
This variety is less prone to bolting tall stems are ideal for both culinary
And ornamental use can be picked small for baby leaf salad.
Beetroot : Pablo F1
High quality beetroot with smooth skin and good deep red internal colour
Good choice for baby beets.
Cabbage : Pixie
Small pointed cabbage can be used early for greens or later for small
Hearted cabbage.
Cabbage : Minicole F1
Small compact round cabbage ideal for small spaces
Cabbage : Redcap F1

Excellent baby carrot variety that can be grown in containers
Carrot : Amsterdam Forcing 2
Another one suited to baby carrots in containers
Cauliflower : Idol
An early variety, highly suited to producing MINI Cauliflowers.
Small crisp , white head with erect foliage. Harvest June until end of July.
Cucumber : F1 Greenfingers
New :Early outdoor variety producing high yields of baby 10-12 cm
Cucumbers good flavour and firm crisp flesh
Courgette : F1 Bambino
Heavy Yields of dark green baby fruits over a long period the flowers
Can also be used from this variety.
Kohl Rabi : Quickstar F1
Very versatile hybrid variety can be cropped outside or under glass
Leeks : F1 Imperial Summer
Early variety suitable for baby leeks in containers
Leeks : Tornado
Later Variety suited to baby leeks
Lettuce:
There are many varieties of lettuce such as Tom Thumb, Suzan, Green and
Red Salad Bowl, All Year Round, Marvel Of Four Seasons, Little Gem,
Lobjoits Green Cos, Nymans, Saladin, to name a few
Onion Spring : Winter Over
Variety of spring onion for autumn sowing for early crops

with an excellent yield of medium size fruits which turn red
Spinach :Matador
Mid Early with semi erect, dark green, tender leaves. Can be used as
conventional spinach or as a salad leaf
Spinach : Bloomsdale
The Spinach Bloomsdale, is an old favourite amongst gardeners.
The Bloomsdale has excellent flavour and produces large quantities
of tasty leaves. If you are new to gardening, try fresh spinach in the
garden, the buttery flavour will win you over. Spinach is also very nutritious
with lots of Vitamin A, C, and iron and is low in calories. Bloomsdale is an old,
dependable, open pollinated variety and it is also good in containers.
Tomato :Tumbling Tom Red
Cascading high yielding variety plant 3 to a hanging basket small red
cherry tomatoes
Tomato : Tumbling Tom Yellow
As above but yellow
Many other outdoor tomatoes can also be grown in containers or Grow Bags
Turnip : Atlantic
Fast growing Milan purple top type suitable for baby turnips all year round in containers.
Baby Leaf Mixes
There are loads of baby leaf salad mixes as well as oriental type veg available now all which can be grown in containers

Default any tips for salads to sow now?

having only pots and 3m x2m max what salad bits could I sow from seed now to reap later say late summer early autumn?
