Default Desiree spuds

My potatoes are doing really well, dont think i can earth up anymore unless i want to own the only hill in Holland!!!! They are budding ready to flower, planted, end of may so should ready around end of August?
The question is, I have just read on another site about pinching out the flowers? BUT cant seem to find any specific information on Desiree. I know they are all different. Any advice on what to do re flowers and when they will be ready would be great.

Many thanks,
Sandra

remove flowers and scrape around plants and harvest at the size you need can be left in the ground until end of sept beware of slug and eelworm damage if left in ground too long harvest on a warm dry day and lay potatoes on paper or sacking to dry turn once or twice and then store in a dark cool place in sacks paper or hessian

Thankyou for the reply. Should i remove the flowers now or wait until they open?
Am dead excited to have a root around and see what I`ve got!

Thanks again, Sandra

remove flowers at the first opportunity
don't forget that a plants first object is to reproduce and as soon as flowers set the plant uses all energy to maintain those seeds so tubers suffer
