Potatoes

I have dug my trench ready for my potatoes next year. This year i have been advised to put a small layer of manure in the bottom of the trench, which i have done.

Has anyone else done this and does it produce better potatoes ? I did not do it last year or the year before and both years i had a good crop.

hi paul iv heard this method is very good,an old gardener i new put a cumfrey leaf between the manure and the potato,said it gave him the best crop

hi paul did the same with my potatoes,but had problems with slug damage.will try half with and half without this time will let you know how it goes

i always add a good 6 inches of manure,but you have to be careful where you get it from. regards POTHEAD
