Cool

Hi Bud,

I have just put my shallots in this morning. The sun has been out for a couple of days and the ground here is pretty warm.
I don't know what the tempreture needs to be, but I planted this time last year and they grew extremely well. I just put a fine dusting of compost over the crop and some netting for added protection.

Hope that helps

Paul

If you are at all worried about the cold weather, they can be started off in modules and planted out in a few weeks time, they will be then have a good root system and probably a few leaves too

they are fine to go straight in the ground now, mine are already grwoing. speed them up by planting into pots in a greehouse and then transplanting - they transplant very easily. or plant them in the ground and cloche them.
