Hi,
I was very interested to read your post about allotments in Aberdare. I have been thinking about getting a small allotment for some time as I have no room to grow anything in my garden. I live in Trevor St (top of Monk St) and would really like an allotment preferrably within walking distance as I have two young children. I'm a complete novice so any advice you can offer would be gratefully received. Thanks. |

Hi Mum2three,
I am from cwmaman, so i know aberdare well. There are allotments at the top of Bond Street, by the old police houses not far from you. As far as i know, they are all taken although you can pop down and ask. These are owned by RCT. They normally have a waiting list. The allotment that I use is on Brynmair Road in Godreaman. This is privately owned and only £4. per year. If you are interested, I could get the phone number for the secretary or just pop in on a sunday morning after 10:30 as the sec will be there. Theres always someone there to give loads of advice for growing and we always give excess seeds / plants to people to help them along. The only problem for you is that it is quite a walking distance from where you live. If you want the number post back. Hope thats any good |

Hiya, I've just joined this site, I'm from Mountain Ash and hoping to find a little bit of land in the area to grown vegetables. I'm new to growing and really enjoying it but my garden is a bit too small. Thank you in advance for any help
