The Dirty Hoer is on a distinguished road
Default Plant ID anyone?

Can anyone tell me what this is? I'm clearing it away from a grassed area to prepare for veg next year. The largest ones have grown to about 4 feet high on this site but the stems aren't woody. Surprisingly, they have large woody roots that look well established. I am wondering what their presence can tell me about the ground i'm using.

Thanks.IMG_0452.jpg

Looks like Stags Horn Sumach to me. Also known as Rhus. A large suckering shrub. Could also be Aralia. The same spec as Rhus.

Thanks David. There's nothing like that nearby, it's possibly left over from before it was turfed if the size of the roots are anything to go by.
