Unhappy /Me is sulking

Morning Everybody

I'm not a happy camper, we have just had word back from our parish council about a lotty.

They have 100 plots all of which are occupied and active, plus they already have 70 people on the waiting list for a plot. So it could be YEARS (their words) before we get a plot.

We have not had any response from the borough council and the county council gave us a flat NO because we pay the council tax to the borough council.

So as I said, I'm sulking

WW

Could you not approch a farmer to see if you could rent a patch of land for a price. If there was a few people intrested in renting he could make some money and the people get an allotment. In fact the edges could be caltavated and its green. He may get an EEC grant. Some farmers get paid NOT to grow stuff. A farmer near Redhill has not used a field in 20 years. He allows the school and a few villagers to plant vegies etc. There is a contract giving him the right to end aggrement with 6 months notice and they cant claim any squatters rights. His other fields are used for moo cows so the fartalisers free as long as you pick it up. Marmite

Hi All,
Mr Marmite is right, alot of farmers are now doing this.
Was there not a piece covered on country file, about this subject????
If not mistaken, "Landshare Scheme" springs to mind.
However, not a 100% sure, but surely it must be worth you investigating your local areas, to see if such schemes exist.

Free "Fartiliser" as mentioned by Marmite, thrown in,,,, Can't be bad. cheers stupo

Hi stupo

Yup I've joined Landshare, but there's nothing on offer around us as of yet, but we will keep an eye out.

Thanks for the input everybody

Regards

WW

Here's a direct link to their site:-

I feel your pain, I was on the waiting list for 3 years!!

I hope you manage to find a friendly farmer who's happy to share a bit of his land!

Morning Boss

Sorry for the late reply, didn't manage to get online yesterday.

Cheers for the links, we have already been to the SWCAA site but unfortunately they don't come for enough NorFFF stopping at Wiltshire.

You are more than welcome for the link as we have both received a great welcome here from yourself and all other members of this great (Carlsberg) site.

Regards

WW & Nix

Hi WW,
Must Agree,,,, "Carlsberg"
However, Not Probably, but "Definitely"

We have a "Great Family" here, all with our own little bits to contribute,
Making it "Special".
Not forgetting,, It all being made possible, by a certain "Boss Lady"
(even if she is a little "Ecentric" running round in "Jim Jams" all night)

Happy Days cheers stupo.
