Hi Tezmac, give your onions a couple of weeks then lift them. In ideal weather conditions leave them on top of the ground to dry for a few days, then shake off all the excess dry soil and spread the onions out somewhere so that the outer skins can dry out properly. With all the rain that we are having it's best to lift the onions on a dry day and carefully knock the soil off the roots, then find somewhere undercover where you can spread the onions out so that the outer skins can dry out. When they are dry you can store the onions in a net bag, somewhere cool and dry or have a go at plaiting an onion string!
