Default Getting rid of twitch grass

Morning guys and gals

All year I've been digging out the twitch - couch - grass and have made good progress. Now I want to treat the remaining bits with weed killer, Any recommendations on a good one - there are several on the market that claim to be good for deep rooted weeds. What are your experiences with these?

Thanks

George

best to use a product containg glyphosate this will translocate down the plant its better not to try and dig out as you split the roots and make the problemn worse if it grows between plants try painting on with a paint brush its not on the label but it works you can add a small amount of washing up liquid to it this makes it stick to the leaf .

Roundup is definately the right thing for the job, but as for thinning out first, leaving the Couch grass intact with as much top as possible gives the chemical the best chance to work well and applied correctly it will totally eradicate Couch. Please be aware though this is not the ideal time of year to use Roundup, the Couch grass needs to be actively growing and application is best from Spring through to early Autumn.

Guys and Gals

I did read your replies soon after they were posted, but got distracted and forgot to reply.

I did buy the roundup - too good of an offer to miss - but I haven't applied it - but I've got it and come the first chance next year it's PAYBACK time
