Happy New Year Guys and Gals
I’ve had an allotment for 2 years now and I must admit its been hard going - mostly due to limited time available. However, last year I did have a god crop of potatoes - Desiree. Still eating them, great. This year I want to grow some more varieties. I would like to be able to say as I serve them up ‘ These are difficult to get (or expensive) but are so nice that I grew them myself, enjoy’. ![]() So with that though in mind what special varieties should I consider for this year? Also where should I get them and what price should I pay? Happy digging George |

Hi George,
Charlotte is a good variety to try. It is also worthwhile looking round for a garden centre that sells seed potatoes loose. These are sold by the bag and you can walk round select varieties to try and see how you get on. ![]() |
