Hi again![]() I placed my seed tubers in a cool dark frost free storage from which I retrevied them yesterday to find that alot of the earlies have already sprouted. They have white shoots about 1" long. A few of the other type of earlies and my main crop tubers have also done the same. They are now is egg trays in a cool, light, frost free, without direct sun light! So what should I do now? Leave them as they are for a few weeks then get them in ASAP before the sprouts become to long? Break of the exsisting sprouts so they need to sprout again? Any advice apprecited. ![]() Best regards Paul |

Hi Paul,
I've done this before, knocking off the sprouts, and mine resprouted in time for planting! When they're planted you want the sprouts to be about 1 inch long and no more because the can be susceptible to breaking when planting! With maincrop you don't need to chit them first as they're in the ground for a much longer time! Hope this is of some help ![]() |
