Default My Vegtables

Please see some pictures of my efforts, comments are welcome.

Whilst i think the pictures look good! I'm battling a mole or moles, which are currently running amok! and just to ensure that growing your own is not to easy bees are now resident in the potato plot living the the original mole tunnel. Poor mole I hear you say, but don't worry the mole has dug another tunnel to by pass the danger of bees!

I've got one mole trap, which has been in position for 4 days without success and I'm still thinking what to do about the bees!

Interestingly I'm also a member of the west suffolk bee keeping assocaition, and I have my name down on their list to receive bees this year!

what a joy!!

regards to all

Paul

Default I've Got a mole

Hi Husker

thanks the the kind words, about me veg plot.

Well 5 mins ago I just caught a mole, hope it was the only one which was bothering me and ruining my efforts.

It happened totally un-expectedly. I was on the other side of my veg plot away form the pots and the parsnips which had been severly damaged by the mole, and I was looking at me Pack choi and Spinache seedlings and right infront of me the ground started comming up next to me foot, I nearly got sucked in due to the ground instability. Quickly I grabed the fence to steady myself and then reached for the 3' long 1/4" steel rod which was inadvertantly close at hand. I then carefully stabbed it in a vertical fashion 957 times down the new mole hole which was being generated at the time. As soon as I had finished, I was quite out of breath, as you can imagine so I had a rest and noticed that the ground movement had stopped!

For those with queasy stomaches I can advised the the mole was buried with full pomp and circumstance!

The BEE's. Well i've decided to keep them and leave them alone. Maybe I will get honey pots, lol. Eiter way I can dig them up with me bee suite on so no problem. I love to be in touch with nature

Regards

Paul
