Question Tom Trusses & side shoots

Well I'm growing "moneymaker" toms that have the following wording on the packets.

"pinch out sider shoots regulary, and the growing tip after 5-6 trusses have set"

Sorry for being stupid but I know the growing tip is thebit at the top, but how do i know the difference between a side shoot and a truss?

So I've aattached and tried to number some bits so hopefully someone can help!

Kind Regards to All

Paul

the trusses will be a steam with only flowers on it whereas a side shoot will have leaves but no flowers. also the shoots come from just above a leaf on the main steam and the trusses grow inbetween the leaves.

no it will have the ones that are growing, as single leaves, from the main steam, the shoots grow from just above the leaves you want to keep.

i meant that the shoots are like a new steam with only leaves (well they will set flower if you leave them long enough) whereas the trusses are new shoots that just produce flowers.

Dont forget to 'pinch out' the new shoots that appear in the 45 degree angle between the main stem and the side shoots. This will divert the energy in the plant into the flowers and fruit.
