Just read on RHS site that I was supposed to cut back my Broom after it flowered. OPPPPs That was over a month ago!
It also said cut only the ones that flowered because next years flowers will be on the new growth of this year, if that makes sense! Bit like Rasberry canes i guess. So should I now leave well alone or cut the whole thing back by say a 3rd! Thinking I may have a problem identifying those that flowered this year! ha ha ha I am useless with flowering stuff. My wisteria hasnt been touched as far as pruning is concerned and every year I say oh dear its not flowering again! Maybe I should give it a go, all seems a bit complicated though!!!!!!!!! Many thanks, Sandra |

I had never pruned my brooms and found they had a short life but last year I gave them a light shear to give them a bit of shape and, except for one which got wrenched clean out of the ground after a storm, it flowered really well so will shear again - maybe it will work again
![]() Don't know much about wisterias though, sorry. |

Many thanks for the advice, i will give it a little trim then! It flowered beautifully this year and seemed to go on forever! I will definately have a go prpogating from seed, its such a gorgeous colour, like yellow rain drops. Wish I had taken a picture of it now!
