Can you tell me what this is please?

It grows on a large bush, around 7 foot tall and as you can see has the most beautiful purple coloured flowers all over. It has forked leaves, like birds feet and the flowers are just one large petal, it looks like there are lots but it has no breaks. When the flowers fall off it produces large green, smooth seed pods that remind me of deadly night shade.

I want to know what it is as a neighbour has one and I want to get one myself, it is so beautiful.

The flowers look a bit like a Solanum, but whether that's what it actually is...
