Question Mirabilis seeds????

Hello all, nice day here in the midlands, despite being a little cold. My question concerns seeds/pods from the plants mentioned. Last season i picked up a cheap (pound shop) bag of tubers or whatever there callled? just popped them in, and...... great, some lovely bush type plants with lots + lots of flowers. I read somewhere, (that each flower produces a seed) which i believe i have collected, does anybody know if i just, plant as they are? or, do i have to remove, (what seems to be a very tough outer casing/pod) Would be grateful of any advice, cheers Paul (stupo74)
